That’s it then folks … Show’s over. Wait, what’s that? There’s a bit more yet? Because Alex is too lazy to produce new content?

Welcome to the afterparty. Tomorrow, I’ll be throwing up a guest-blog by one of my eloquent comrades every couple of hours. And, no doubt, mercilessly promoting it. Facebook, be ready.

I also thought I’d just throw up a complete song-choices and links post, for completeness’ sake. I’m aware that no-one ever comments, but I implore you (not just for my ego, mostly for my ego) to give some feedback. Favourite post? Worst choice? Best type of post (I worked out the other day they split into about the song / mini-essay on related topic / autobiographical)? You don’t have to sign up or nuthin’ and it would help me know my strengths.

2 Thoughts to “30 Days of Music is Over!”

  1. Hi Alex,

I've been reading your 30 Days of Music blogs with great interest over the past month and I've just sat down and gone through the whole thing in one evening while I was uploading some music of my own (by which I mean CDs I own, not music I have made).

It's a great collection of essays and songs – you should be proud. I might even attempt my own come June (my blog is trivia-lad.tumblr if you're interested).

As for criticism, the Chelsea Dagger post was a brilliant dissection of the song (as were Gigantic, Scorpio Rising and I Know It's Over), the Orchestra Of Wolves post reminded me of similar songs from my own life and, as someone equally lacking in musical ability, I though the 4'33" post was great. Overall I think I preferred the song-focused entries to the autobiographical, but it was a close run thing.

Also, thanks to your posts, I'm adding Emmy The Great and Patrick Wolf to my "must track down some stuff soon" list.

    Keep up the good work!

  2. Aww, thanks man, awesome. I feel all fuzzy and warm now!

And, I reckon I'm behind you about the autobiog stuff. This was me getting that end of my writing out of my system, I think.
